“Like many in Fremont or Seattle, I come from many places. Many influences. Bridge to the Center of the Universe, for me, brings them altogether and distills my journey into what I have to say to tell the story. Many of these songs were written along the ship canal near the Fremont Bridge portrayed on the cover art. Bridge builds us hope across arroyos in the lyrics in these stories… in our souls, in our relationships, in our world.”

“This album resulted from my great affection for Herb Alpert, Jobim, Michael Franks, and classic crooner swing. Also, my marriage and travel in Brazil influenced the writing of these songs. My wife translated She’s Like That, Seu Ser, and other parts in Portuguese. The bossa songs speak of our love and How You Might Know and Stargazing 50 speak of the love I have for my parents as tributes.”
